What parents are saying..."Have you ever had a prayer answered and then looked up to the heavens to thank God for being there in your time of need? Well, I have many times, and I want to share with you a prayer that God has answered for our family. In 2002, my husband and I became aware that our youngest son had learning difficulties, and we needed to seek help. After consulting several doctors and specialists, we enrolled our son in a program for vision therapy. Although we began to see an improvement in his reading skills, we also became aware that for optimum learning he would need placement in a smaller class. We asked God for guidance. As a mother, I wanted a quick answer, but God saw to it that I wait and be patient. Several months later, God put a friend on my heart, a woman who had taken her children from the school where our children were enrolled, and had placed them in a new facility called the Rock Academy. My husband and I decided to investigate the school. I remember visiting the Rock that first day, and I had butterflies. To our delight, we were greeted warmly at the front desk and were guided into the principal's office to meet Dr. Richard Andujo. We were both impressed with all of Dr. Andujo's answers to our many questions, as he outlined the vision of the school and all that they were seeking to accomplish. As we left his office, I realized that my prayers were being answered. We felt joy and excitement for the future. My husband and I talked about the decision for a long time and made many trips back to the site before sending the children for a half-day visit. As I arrived to pick them up from their visit, both children had huge smiles on their faces. I knew immediately that I had God to thank once again. Our children entered the Rock in the fall of 2003, and we have been blessed to be a part of this program. It was difficult to make this major change for our children, but our faith has not failed us. The Rock has been a wonderful environment for our children. Our daughter, a fifth grader, has been academically challenged and has tried out for a number of sports teams. Our son, a third grader, is also making fine improvements, and we are very thankful. He is excited about learning and works extremely hard to earn good grades. At the Rock Academy our children participate in additional programs such as art, Spanish, music, and sports. Moreover, we appreciate the leadership of the fine teaching staff that was selected to be part of this special learning institution. They provide a wonderful atmosphere where our children grow, learn, and develop to their full potential. Currently the school is located at a temporary facility, but we anticipate the future move to Point Loma's Liberty Station. We have visited this new site, and are thrilled with the plans for the new school. The Rock has been a gift from God to our family. We are truly thankful that our prayers have been answered. Thank you, Rock staff and teachers, for blessing our precious children and for helping them to grow in mind and spirit through your love and guidance. We will continue to pray for the plans and vision of the school. We are excited to see what God has to share with our children in the years to come. Thank you all for committing yourselves to the work of Christ!" "As parents we all make decisions about our investments; where to live, where to worship, and how to serve God and our communities. Investment decisions affect our family's future, and where we end up has plenty to do with the choices we make. Ultimately, though, God is the One who directs our steps. Our oldest son was enrolled for his second year in a great public school and had done above average academically in kindergarten. However, our spiritually aware five year old found it difficult to understand why he could celebrate Halloween at school but not Easter. He had difficulty understanding why he might get in trouble for sharing Jesus with other children, just as he had learned how to do in AWANA Bible Club. Lead by the Lord to place our son in a Christian environment that also emphasized academics, we looked at the Rock Academy, a brand new school. What we found were experienced and dedicated educators who were Biblically aligned with the leadership of Pastor Miles. Not only did our son's first year benefit him, but it also challenged us to grow in the parenting all of our children. The Rock's environment supported our Christian principles, and upheld our standards of strong academics, character development and manners training. We know how important it is for all children to maintain good relationships with strong, godly men and women-an attribute that is not reinforced in public education. It is a privilege to watch God's great work-in-progress as He develops the foundation in these early years of the school's history. You could try to put a price on the support and nurturing given by the great staff of educators and mentors; but there will be no limit to the high return on investment we are receiving, not just financially, but spiritually as we watch God use the Rock Academy to grow our boys into godly young men." "We thank God for the Rock Academy and its influence in helping our kids grow spiritually, academically, and physically. We're so glad that the school reinforces the Biblical and moral values we hold dearly and teach our kids at home. Jacob's growth in every aspect can be seen by others, especially when he's in his archery competitions. Cassaundra is growing continually, and we can see and hear her maturity as she relates to others. We are truly blessed by the high standard of teaching and the most qualified administrators and teachers at the Rock Academy. To God Be the Glory!" "I simply wish to thank you and your exceptional staff at the Rock Academy school for the excellent job you all do with the children. Yohann has grown into a remarkable young man thanks to all your patience, love, and devotion. I always knew the Rock Academy was different from other schools; where else do you see a school principal supervising and playing ball with the students? Your after school program is excellent, Mrs. Goodwell does a great job instilling principles such as discipline and respect to the students. When I leave my sons at your school in the morning my mind is at peace, for I know they will be fine. For that gift, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart." |

Also, the godly staff and students help keep the environment clean and friendly. Amanda Wright They have hired superior educators who have high expectations for all of their students. The students also wear uniforms so that there is no sense of inequality. Rebecca Everett At this school, it is rarely seen that students exclude others. Dillon Leeder If you care about education and a strong relationship with Christ, I highly recommend the Rock Academy. Kenley Hansen When I read the Bible, I notice that Jesus always used perfect grammar when preaching, so I try to apply that principle to my life. I see that, through God, Christians are supposed to be educated. Calvin Bryant The Rock Academy has fewer students so every child receives more attention. I also think that the classes have excellent sequence. Taylor Olson Students at the Rock are really kind and courteous to one another. Jacob Guevara |
