Getting Involved at the Rock Academy

Do you desire to make a lasting impact at your child's school? Want to become more involved in the Rock Academy family? From volunteering to donating, there are several ways in which you can further contribute to the Academy. These opportunities will be further discussed at Parent Orientation Night this Thursday at 6 pm.

The Rock Academy Development Plan:
In regards to development, the Academy uses a three-tiered approach:
1) Cultivate a stronger community spirit at the Academy
2) 100% Parental Involvement
3) Raise money for the Academy's Annual Fund

Parental Involvement:
Being involved with the Academy will greatly benefit not only the school as a whole, but specifically YOUR child!  Considering that ten volunteer hours are required from every child's parents (in order to receive your $200 check back) there are a many ways in which you can complete these hours.  From helping in the office, to being a room parent, to making phone calls at home, to being a part of the PRAISE parent committee, we want you to be involved in your child's school!

The Academy Community:
We want the Rock Academy to feel like a family.  It is our desire to increase school morale and create a tighter community feel.  Partner with us in developing this by supporting our school events throughout the year!  You can be kept in the know by following us on our new Facebook page linked at the bottom of the Academy website.  For all the moms out there, connect with other women at our second annual Mom's Breakfast on August 28th at 9 am in the Academy library.  

The Annual Fund:
This fund exists to make up the difference between what tuition provides and the actual cost to educate a student.  The Academy awarded double the amount of tuition aid this year than in past years; as a result, rebuilding the Annual Fund is of absolute importance.  God is truly working in the lives of our students so we are asking you to partner with us to allow this positive change to continue by rebuilding the Annual Fund. 

In addition to donations, we hope to grow this fund with the "The Power of Change" Globe Bank Drive.  If you still have one of these banks from last year's drive, please return it to the Academy office so that the banks may once again be distributed.  Several other ideas to grow the Annual Fund are in the works including a Fall Jog-a-thon and a Golf Tournament. 

There are a few EASY things you can do now to help raise money for the Academy.  Purchasing Scrip gift cards for stores you normally shop at allows the Academy to get a percentage of the cost.  You can also partner with different grocery stores who will give a percentage of what you spend on your groceries back to the school.
