2005 School Profile

It is with a high level of excitement that I write to you. We have done a simple analysis of our Stanford Achievement Test 10th edition scores for 2004-2005, and I have enclosed the synopsis herein. First, the Rock Academy's overall school, not individual, average score was 72%. Essentially, this states that if you were to line up 100 schools in America, this school scored higher than 72 of those schools. Moreover, we improved by 2.5% from 2003-2004 to 2004-2005. That is a significant accomplishment when one considers the fact that we are just beginning our 4th year in existence as a K-6 institution and our 3rd year as a middle school.

54% of our entire student body scored at or above the 90 percentile in at least one academic area.

Second, and most impressively, 54% of our entire student body scored at or above the 90 percentile in at least one academic area (i.e. language, reading, math, etc.). This means each of these children scored in the top 10% or better in at least one academic area compared to all the children in their grade taking the SAT this year nationally; the top 10% in the entire United States!!! This statistic is phenomenal; it is a clear tribute to the fine students and their positive work ethic, dedicated parents, professional faculty, and our superb curriculum.

Enclosed please find the 7th and 8th grade SAT scores from 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years. Indeed, the by-product of the fine education these young people are receiving can be seen in the fact that our graduates are doing well and have been accepted into some of the most challenging and selective pre-AP programs in the areas top high schools. This past year, one of our 8th graders won the highly competitive San Diego ACSI Spelling Bee, and one of our 7th graders won the Math Championship.

In addition, our 15:1 student to teacher ratio allows for quality, individualized attention. To encourage our students to excel in every aspect of their academic life, our teachers host tutorials from 7:00-7:50 AM each Tuesday and Thursday to assist in math and English respectively. We have also incorporated a daily period for study hall to assist and ensure that students are mastering their subject matter.

In terms of accreditation, we are delighted to report that we are now in the candidacy stage through Western Association of Schools and Colleges and Association of Christian Schools International. In fact, we anticipate receiving a superior grade when our evaluation is complete next year.

Our administrative team has over 30 years experience in school operations.

Further demonstrating the excellence of this fine institution is the fact that we have several teachers, administrators, medical, and legal professionals who have chosen to enroll their children here. In fact, we have one child whose mother teaches advanced school placement courses at a local public school, two public school administrators, and one college administrator; who, after examining this school closely, concluded that the Rock Academy was the best educational option for their children.

In terms of faculty and staff, we are pleased to announce that the majority of our teachers are credentialed; two have earned masters degrees. Moreover, our administrative team has over 30 years experience in school operations. I personally hold a doctoral degree in Educational Administration, and our Vice Principal is in the process of earning his Doctorate of Educational Administration as well.

In conclusion, God is truly blessing His school. Our students are learning and excelling academically as we provide both an academically rigorous and a spiritually vibrant experience for our student body.
