"For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology"

FIRST is a non-profit, with partners like NASA, whose goal is to inspire science & technology in kids. We invite you to visit their website at www.usfirst.org to get a feel for their robotics program and take a look at the amazing things they do!

Besides being a lot of fun for students, the FIRST program is a life-changing, career-molding experience for them. Our students demonstrate teamwork as they gain practical knowledge in manufacturing, programming, digital media, fundraising, web design, accounting and public speaking as they compete with a wide range of FIRST teams. The process of building and competing with our robot is the mechanism that inspired our students to push themselves beyond expectations. Every team will design, fabricate and program a robot to perform the tasks for that years challenge, executed within the specifications that FIRST sets forth.

Fundraising

Fundraising is extremely important to the success of our teams!

We rely not only on our own fundraising efforts, but we partner with corporate sponsors, and also plan to write grants, to help raise the money needed to cover the costs necessary for a successful year!

Every member is expected to achieve their fair share of the fundraising effort. The robot's direct needs can run from $1500 - $3500.
