Principal's Message

Welcome

Welcome to the Rock Academy website--we are delighted that you have visited us! We know you have a choice with regard to selecting the perfect place for your child's education. We are indeed honored to share with you the wonderful things God has accomplished in just ten years of existence. I personally invite you to contact me at richard.andujo@therockacademy.org to make an appointment to visit a few classrooms and discuss your child's strengths and needs as they correspond to the mission of this school.

Our quest at the Rock Academy is to construct a school where we are able to provide rigorous and sustained academic training, all while maintaining a vibrant and inspirational spiritual environment.

The Lord has assembled a fabulous, first-rate team of teachers. I invite you to be our guest and observe these professional educators first-hand while visiting a class in session. I would also like to take the time to:

• Allow you to examine our NWEA test scores
• Observe 90% of our 8th graders taking high school level Algebra 1
• Describe the daily function of our European-model K-8 Spanish classes
• Review our curriculum and class options available to your child.  A unique feature at the Rock Academy is our schedule which allows for students to take the math class at their individual level.  For example, a 2nd grade student can take 3rd grade math and a 6th grade student can take 5th grade math, if that is their level.  This is done to provide every avenue of success in the subject of math.

Parent Resources

The Rock Academy features RenWeb, a parent/student web portal that allows viewing of the teacher grade books, homework, lesson plans, and teacher's websites at any time, 24/7.

A School of Outstanding Students

This young school has the privilege of having many outstanding students enrolled. The following is a sampling:

• Raelin Perez, Class of 2011, first Ivy League admittance to Dartmouth
• Max Hooper, Class of 2010, scored 34 out of 36 on the ACT, putting him in the 99 percentile.
• Chad Wehsener, Class of 2015, 2nd in the Eighth Grade Computation category at 2011 ACSI Math Olympics
• Ted Fukami, Class of 2020, 2nd in the Third Grade Reasoning category at 2011 ACSI Math Olympics
• Avery Berchek, Class of 2014, 1st place in the 2010 ACSI Spelling Bee for his grade level and 1st place overall champion at the District Spelling Bee

• Varsity Boys Basketball Team League Champions 2011
• Varsity Girls Softball Team SDCIF Runner-Ups for 2011
• Varsity Boys Baseball Team League Champions for 2011
• Warriors Robotics Team 4112 won the Judges Award at the FIRST San Diego 2010 Championship and placed 4th out of forty teams in their inaugural year
