Runnin' and Rockin' - 2nd Annual Jog-a-thon
Let's tie up those laces and start runnin'! Come out and support our students and teachers as The Rock Academy hosts the 2nd annual Runnin' and Rockin' themed Jog-a-thon on November 30th. We encourage everyone to come dressed in their favorite decade attire and run with your student as we raise money for our school. We look forward to seeing you at the race!

Veteran's Day Assembly
The Rock Academy would like to invite all individuals who have served or are currently serving in the military, and their families, to join us for a special Veteran's Day ceremony on Thursday, November 10, at 1:00 P.M. in the Rock Sanctuary. All church, school, and community members who wish to honor these brave men and women are also encouraged to attend.

NO SCHOOL - Veteran's Day & Thanksgiving Break
The Rock Academy will be closed November 11th in celebration of Veteran's Day. School will also be closed November 21nd - 25th for Thanksgiving break. We hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Please join us for a time of worship through dance in the Rock Sanctuary on Wednesday, November 16th from 9:10 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. The dance students will be performing multiple dance pieces with each dance communicating a different message. We would love to see you there!

Informational Tours
The Rock Academy will be hosting an informational tour on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 4:00 P.M. in Room 254.
If you know of any families that are interested in finding out more information about the Rock Academy, please invite them to attend. RSVPs are not required.

RFL Bootcamp
The Rock Church is offering a great financial bootcamp class (through Rock Financial Life) on Saturday, November 12. They will have informational workshops on budgeting, eliminating debt, employment, and more! If you have always wanted to attend the RFL classes, but have not had the time for the 6 week course, this is perfect for you! Get your family in to the Christmas spirit! The Rock Academy’s elementary students proudly present "Bethlehem or Bust” about a camel and his friends as they discover the true meaning of Christmas! Please join us on Thursday, December 8, at 1:00 P.M. or Friday, December 9, at 6:00 P.M. in the Rock Church and Academy Sanctuary for a night of Christmas Caroling led by our K-4th graders and a performance by our 5th & 6th graders. Robotics
October was a busy month for the Robotics team. On the 15th, the team participated in FIRST day at Francis Parker High School. Please encourage your child to check the Lost & Found in the hallway outside the Rock Academy office on the 2nd floor weekly for any items that have been misplaced. The bin is currently overflowing! The Lost & Found is emptied every Friday. Any unclaimed school uniforms will be placed in the Uniform Exchange; everything else will be thrown away or donated to the Salvation Army.

Feel free to come by the Academy office to check our Uniform Exchange. You can swap gently used uniforms your child has outgrown with other parents or pick out used items for a suggested donation of $5 per item.

SHINE (a women’s morning bible study) will be starting up again on Thursday, September 8th. We will meet in room 232, from 9:30 -11:30 am. We will be studying "The Beautiful Disciplined Woman". No book to buy, just bring your bible and a pen. Childcare is available.
