Tami Shreves

Tami Shreves is one of the Rock Preschool’s wonderful teachers. She has 27 units in early childhood development, and she has been teaching preschool for over 20 years. One of her passions is teaching 5 year olds about the Bible. It's exciting to teach truth to young minds and so amazing when you see them "get it." Working in the early childhood field is fascinating and rewarding.

Tami came to the Lord when a friend from work shared God's love with her. After enduring a difficult relationship and a broken heart, the truth of the gospel made so much sense to Tami. She accepted Jesus, and shortly after salvation she started teaching Sunday school. It was then that she fell in love with teaching young children. She quit her bank job of several years and started teaching preschool. After almost 20 years, Tami is still in contact with the wonderful friend who led her to the Lord, and she truly appreciates friendship evangelism.

Another passion Tami has is leading women in small groups. She has led "Moms in Touch" Prayer groups or Women's Bible Studies for over 20 years. Women need other women to help them stay strong in their faith. They help each other to stay faithful in the Word and to overcome the storms and trials of life. She has many stones of remembrance that encourage her on her journey through life as a Christian woman, wife, mother, friend, and educator.

Tami is a firm believer in turning your heart toward home. She loves and is grateful for her husband Mark. She and Mark met in a small group that was being held at Tami's house. She can say that the Lord brought her husband right into her home! They enjoy sharing their faith, standing up for truth in pro-life venues, and talking with Mormons about Christ. Tami and Mark support each other in their ministry to the body of Christ and in the building up of the saints.

She and Mark also love riding his Yamaha V-Star motorcycle around our beautiful city. She and Mark have four very talented and beautiful daughters; Natalie, Sarah, Kayla and a spiritual daughter Megan. They are discovering their own adult faith and using their talents for such amazing purposes. Her daughters keep her young and bring her tremendous joy. They also keep her on her knees in prayer for their future families.

She enjoys walks on the beach, gardening, interior decorating, and having people over to fellowship. She is a native San Diegan and loves our beautiful city. Being a part of the foundational stages of building up the Rock Church is a true blessing. Keeping young-minded, challenged, and full of God's love and grace is a daily desire for Tami. It's all about Jesus!

Tami loves working at the Rock Academy Preschool because she knows the Lord desires families to learn about Christ and His amazing love for them. Supporting families who want to live for the Lord and being a part of the daily support system is what Tami was created for. She desires to use her gifts to serve others, and God's kingdom. She knows God has His perfect plan for her life.
