Sheila Ellis

Sheila hails from Philadelphia (Philly) Pennsylvania. She was raised in church since birth, but did not receive Jesus as her Savior until she came to San Diego at the age of 18. She discovered that it is a personal relationship that God desires and not just church attendance.

Sheila knew that she had a call to work with young children from her youth, and began by operating a home daycare. She enrolled in school majoring in Early Childhood Education at San Diego City College. After working at a couple of preschools here in San Diego, Sheila was asked to help start and direct a preschool in Spring Valley in September of 1997.

Not too long after that she was asked by the Rock Academy to start and direct the Rock Academy Preschool in June of 2002. Sheila says her experience with the Rock has been a great platform for spiritual development.

Sheila has a daughter Lyn, age 31, a son Irvin Jr., age 32, a daughter-in-law, Kris, age 31 and a grandson Isaiah, 2 months. Sheila knows that God is her “Source”, and that being a Christian is a true adventure that she looks forward to every day with a smile.
