Lisa Wesner

Lisa was born and raised in a Christian home in Chappaqua, New York. She accepted Jesus into her heart at age 7 during a Vacation Bible School at her church. The Lord guided her as she attended the local public school and went away to college in Maryland to pursue a degree in nutrition and dietetics. Following graduation she had the opportunity to work at a non-profit nutrition education organization in California for many years, during which time she worked with teachers and administrators in both public and private schools. She also became a certified fitness instructor through ACSI and ACE and taught exercise classes part time for 6 years at various fitness locations in San Diego. God had more plans for Lisa and put the desire of becoming a classroom teacher on her heart. When His timing was right she returned to school to earn a Masters in Elementary Education and a California teaching credential. She has been happily teaching elementary school children since 2001.

Lisa’s first love is the Lord Jesus. She knows that He has directed her paths all through her life and guided her through trials and tribulations as well as providing many blessings and joyful experiences. She is married to a wonderful Christian husband and is the mother of two talented teenage daughters.

Family time is very important to Lisa. Raising her daughters as Christians is a priority, and church participation is an integral part of their lives. In addition, she and her family have enjoyed taking fun trips and vacations throughout the years. She enjoys playing board games, reading, and helping her daughters with school and sports activities.

Lisa loves the beautiful outdoors. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking, snorkeling, bogey boarding, and collecting seashells with her family. Her favorite hangouts are La Jolla Cove, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and her own backyard, places where she can have quiet time with the Lord.
