Kristen Cherry

Kristen was born and raised here in San Diego along with her two sisters. She did not have a Christian upbringing; however, in 1991 God called her to salvation and she has never looked back. She believes God has a specific plan for her life, and He allowed her to walk through some extremely difficult situations as a teen and young adult in order to minister and relate to this specific age group today.

Kristen is married to Chris and is the mother of three children: Blake currently attending Miramar College’s EMT program working towards being a Firefighter, Kelsie a Junior in High School, and Madison a seventh grader. Being a mother is an important aspect of her life, and she believes that each one of her children is a gift from the Lord.

In 1998, Kristen went back to school and earned a BA in Human Development and a secondary teaching credential in English from Christian Heritage College, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Immediately following, she applied to Pt. Loma Nazarene University and earned a Masters degree in Education along with an Administrative Credential. She taught for 7 years at Foothills Christian High School where she was the English Department Chair and the AVID site coordinator. She then took over the Counseling Department and worked closely with students as their academic counselor and advisor. Kristen believes that academic advising is a key to the success of every student and should begin as early as possible. She looks forward to developing a strong Guidance Department to assist students here at the Rock Academy High School.
