Elementary Spanish Teacher
Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Foreign Language Education from University of Cadiz, Spain
Elda Martin was born in the beautiful city of Oaxaca, Mexico. Her parents moved to Spain, the native country of her mother, when she was six years old. She grew up in a loving Christian home and accepted the Lord at a young age. This was truly the start of a wonderful life. At the age of fifteen, her family moved again from the big city of Madrid to the quaint coastal town of Rota, Spain. She attended the University of Cadiz and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Foreign Language Education in 1998.

It was during her college years while attending a small Baptist church in Rota, she met her future husband. After they were married, her husband received orders to go to England where she taught Spanish for the first time at Huntingdon Regional College for 2 years in 1998. Three years later, her family relocated to San Diego where their two beautiful children were born.

When she arrived in San Diego she worked in a public school assisting Spanish speaking students with their English. Two years later she was hired to work for a local private school in Point Loma. She taught there for 4 wonderful years to students from second to seventh grade until her family moved to Virginia. There she worked as a Spanish teacher at a Montessori School for 2 years. She has taught many different levels of Spanish and loves teaching children the most. She enjoys their enthusiasm and free spirit. She is passionate about teaching her beautiful native language through music and hands-on activities. Mrs. Martin enjoys traveling, especially visiting her relatives in Spain. She cherishes family and enjoys seeing her children grow up with their cousins. She also enjoys going to the beach, hiking and scrapbooking.
The LORD is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer; my God is my Rock, in Whom I take refuge. He is my Shield and the Horn of my salvation, my Stronghold.
