Corrine Brown
High School Math Teacher
BA in Liberal Arts, Pepperdine University; Teaching Credential, Pepperdine University; Math Certification through National Teacher's Exam (NTE); Supplementary English Credential, CSUSM
Corrine was born in Illinois and grew up attending church. However, it was only something to do on Sunday, a religion without any relationship. Growing up, she lived in 13 different houses in Illinois, Michigan, and California from birth until high school graduation. As a result, she never felt home anywhere and never developed strong ties to anyone until college. Then, as a freshman in college, Corrine gave her life to Christ during a Campus Crusade for Christ meeting. She realized that Jesus was the only constant in her life. No matter how many times she moved or where she lived, He was always there with open arms.
Since that time of revelation, God has continued to mold and shape her. She has continued to move and travel, but San Diego has become her home, and God is her ever-present strength!
Corrine has been teaching for 18 years in multiple settings including 4 years in public school, 3 years in international schools in Cairo, Egypt and Casablanca, Morocco as well as 11 years in private Christian schools. She has taught all levels of high school math including Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) in addition to brief stints in counseling and junior high English and science. She was also selected as the 2010 California STEM teacher of the year by the Air Force Association.
Corrine loves teaching and she has a passion for sharing God's beauty, consistency, and order through mathematics. She also enjoys all sports and traveling. God has continued to bless her with opportunities to engage in both activities, and she tries to honor and serve Him in all things.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
