Cara Wallace
1st Grade Teacher
B.A. Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Education, San Diego Christian College; Multiple Subject Credential, San Diego Christian College
Cara Wallace’s hometown of Tehachapi, California is a little hidden gem located at the start of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. She was given the gift of a Christian education from kindergarten to her graduating year at Country Oaks Baptist School, where she received her high school diploma in 1998. Cara’s relationship with the Lord began at an early age when He spoke to her heart at age 5. Cara believes that her walk with Lord was taken to deeper levels because of the role models she had at her Christian school and church family.
Cara graduated from San Diego Christian College in 2005 with her Multiple Subject Credential and BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Education. She continued her hands-on training as a student teacher with Cajon Valley School District in a second grade classroom and finished her student teaching in a fourth grade classroom for La Mesa Spring Valley School District.
Cara has a heart and a calling for the nations so after completing her credential she spent time living and helping in a Guatemalan orphanage. On her return to the States, she prayed to work in collaboration with the Rock using her gifts in teaching young children. In April of 2006, she came on staff at the Rock Church working in The Rock Children’s Ministry. In October of 2008, after faithfully serving the children’s ministry at the Rock, Cara was called to join The World Race Adventures in Missions organization where she served over eleven countries within a year. As she traversed the globe to countries such as China, India, the Philippines, Africa, Eastern Europe and South America, she lived in orphanages and churches, working alongside missionaries and the nationals in each country.
Cara is excited to be back serving families at the Rock Academy and happy to be in beautiful San Diego. Cara’s heart for her first grade class is to see each child develop their strengths and realize the individual uniqueness God has created in them. Cara’s goal is to foster a classroom environment that develops character values and a love of learning.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
