April Isbell

April feels very fortunate to have been raised in beautiful San Diego by a loving family. She is the middle child and enjoys being best friends with her sister and mentoring her little brother. She is grateful for the amazing examples of godly disciples her parents are and attributes their selfless love as the reason she came to know the Lord at an early age. Though she has always been aware of God's loving grace, April did not take the step to have Jesus guide her life until middle school. Through youth groups, Bible studies, and church summer camps, she realized the importance of living life with and for God.

When it came time to choose a university to attend, April felt the Lord's peace while walking through the beautiful campus of Point Loma Nazarene University. In her years at PLNU, God molded her heart and enhanced her passion for learning. She came to realize that business, economic development, and the non-profit sector were areas that really excited her. While in college, April completed an internship at the Sundt Memorial Foundation as a coordinator for their annual gala. The planning for this three hundred person event was extensive and took over six months. The event was during the height of the economic downturn but was still successful in netting over $200,000 in profits! This internship really confirmed to April her heart for serving in the non-profit sector. After working hard academically, April graduated a semester early with the magna cum laude honor. She is so grateful for all the memories, lessons, passions, maturing, and life-long friends that she was able to take away from her college years.

For several months after April graduated, she wrestled with idea of what to do next. Though she was confused, she really tried to discipline herself in listening and waiting for the Lord. Lo and behold, a few months down the road, a position opened up at The Rock Academy. April feels that the patience God called her to have was well worth it as she is now able to serve while utilizing the passions He has given her.
