Ann Watson

Ann is the middle child of a Lutheran minister and a nurse. She has an older sister and brother and a younger sister and brother. Her parents loved history and travel and fostered a love of both in all of their children. When she finally takes her long-awaited cruise to Alaska, Ann will have visited all 50 states. However, if you notice her license plate holder, Edinburgh, Scotland is where she would rather be. Her family, which now includes husband Larry, three daughters and spouses, and four adorable grandchildren, also loves the beach and Ann has dubbed it ‘God’s jewelry box’. This is where she spends much of her time relaxing and searching for her beloved sand dollars.



Jesus has been an integral part of her life from her baptism at age one month to the present. She always lived in a parsonage next to her father’s church and that church was an extension of her family home. Attending (and later teaching) Sunday school and church, singing in the choir, being part of the huge Vacation Bible schools, and participating in church youth groups helped to forge a lifelong relationship with Jesus. It was this bond that influenced her choice of schools when, after working in a different field for almost 20 years, she decided to change careers and teach full-time. Her husband and two of her daughters teach in public schools but Ann knew she needed to be in an environment where her Lord was welcome and taught about daily. She was fortunate to be able to realize that dream and taught third and fourth graders for several years in Lutheran schools. Through an interesting turn of events, she was lead to teach here at the Rock Academy by the grace of God. She is having the time of her life teaching and loves watching a child finally ‘get’ a concept.
