English Language Development Support Classes

ELD I/II

This course is designed as an intermediate level to English vocabulary, grammar, speaking, pronunciation, listening, writing and reading. There are two prescribed textbooks for this course. The students will return to basics in each area as well as learn basic note-taking skills, writing in their own words, MLA guidelines and embedding quotes.

ESL College/Career Preparedness

This course is designed to assist students in preparing for standardized testing, including the SAT, ACT and TOEFL in order to enter college. Students will also develop skills to help prepare them for college, including reading and writing skills. Students will practice speaking in front of each other. This course will also assist seniors in applying to colleges starting first semester and work on their senior portfolios second semester.
