Philosophy

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:16

The mathematics department believes that God created a world in which we see consistency and order every day.  Our goal is to foster students learning by providing the skills that will create excitement and enthusiasm for the discoveries that can be made mathematically.  We care deeply about each and every student and strive to help all students reach their potential both as students of mathematics and as people.

We want our students to think logically and analytically; to maintain a positive attitude toward solving even unfamiliar problems. Teaching and learning mathematics involves more than just the mathematics itself; it also involves enthusiasm, relationships, and commitment on the parts of both the teacher and the student.  We desire to put an end to the assumption that math is difficult.  We want to transform math into a subject that is easy, inviting, and inspiring to bring individual satisfaction as a result of each student’s accomplishments and understanding of mathematics.

Together we, as teachers and students, can enjoy God’s creation and the infinite future possibilities.
